Belgrano Reviews

Elizabeth
The house is beautiful. Just be warned about the difficulty of manoeuvring a large car along the narrow roads. It was exceptionally clean and very well appointed. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers for 8 people. The views are spectacular. There is plenty of sittingout space. My family adored the hot tub and sat out in it until after dark.
Great house with plenty of space inside for a group of 8 and great views. The hot tub was a welcomed addition although garden much smaller than images suggest. Parking as described not great for large cars up by the house, best to use the private space.
Nikita
What a lovely place! The house was spacious, comfortable and clean. Equipped very well with everything you need, we stayed with friends for my husbands 40th and had the best weekend. Close to shops, food places and pubs. The hot tub was amazing, clean and hotit got lots of use! The jost has been great also, even left us a small welcome hamper. Thank you!
We had a great week in Belgrano in a very warm and comfortable house. I went with my children and grandchildren and everybody loved it. The hot tub was a great success with all generations and amazing views.Location is perfect for Matlock Bath and for a short walk into Matlock. Parking is completely accurate in the listing and we all had a space nearby. Would love to return another year.
Samantha
Lovely accommodation, very comfortable and welcoming. It suited the whole family from an 8 year old to 80 year old. Enjoyed the spacious living room and views from the property were lovely. The hot tub was a great treat Thank you
Alison

Joanne
Lovely house in a beautiful setting. Very responsive owner when we had questions.
Although the property was a perfect size for our party it is in need of repair and renovation major leak in the lounge which looks like its been like this for a long time not a pretty sight.
Rachel
We had a lovely week at Belgrano. The host was very friendly and helpful. The house was large enough for our party of six. Comfortable beds and sofas. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The only issue we had was due to one member of the family having mobility difficulties, they found that the lay out of the steps into the garden restricted them using it. Maybe something for some families to consider. Due to the location of the property parking was a bit unconventional because of the location. But not a problem as we had good instructions from Nick the host on where to park. One car could be parked outside the property and another we parked in the allotted space outside the hotel a couple of minutes walk away. Its a 5 minute walk into Matlock Bath, lovely pubs and friendly cafes. Maybe a bit of a longer walk back up the hill, but worth it to get back to the welcoming peaceful property, with the most beautiful views.
Had a lovely stay. The location is quiet and peaceful yet only a short walk to all the attractions in Matlock Bath. Any minor problems were quickly dealt with...eg. the key code had changed. My recommendation to anyone staying here is to park in the alloted space in the private spaces down the hill and then on Temple Road before you drive to the property. There really is no space at the property as the neighbours tend to use the space available which is fair enough. Once we parked it was easy enough to take the bags. The view from our bedroom was great and sitting in the hot tub was really private and enjoyable.
No parking available as stated on booking, garden very small pictures very deceiving. Decour very dated needs modernising.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Belgrano. Upon arrival we had been left a small hamper of goodies which was a lovely touch. The feel of the house was very homely and it had 5 good sized bedrooms. Our mattress in the main bedroom was too soft for us, but that is a personal choice. We all, the kids and grandad especially loved the hot tub Great location and wonderful views. Only downside is it is at the top of a steep hill, so a bit tiring for the elderly legs but it is what it is. We would love to come back one day and we would highly recommend. Neil the owner was in touch and was very friendly and informative, thanks for a great stay Neil

Party of 9 ladies. We had an amazing time. Got a reply straight away when needed.
Very spacious. We had a lovely holiday easily accommodating our extended family of three couples, 2 children and 2 under twos. The house sits high up, overlooking Matlock Bath. The access is quite steep with limited parking outside the house but we had no difficulty parking in the adjacent roads. This is a small price to pay for the magnificent views overlooking the River Derwent Valley. We had barbecues most evenings taking advantage of the out door eating and views. It has a large hot tub which 4 can comfortably use. Perfect for small children. The Heights of Abraham and Gulliver's Kingdom are a short walk away. Would definitely book again if we ever wanted a holiday in the Peak District.

Access and parking could have been better.
Claire
Lovely property with great views. Very comfortable and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Lovely welcome pack was kindly provided. Parking was not a problem as we use the 2 spaces provided and easily found on street parking for the other cars. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic stay at Belgrano. Great location with plenty around the area. The house was clean, comfortable and had all of the facilities needed. The hot tub and outdoor area is well maintained with beautiful views. Lovely welcome pack on arrival which went down well with adults and children. Small issue during our stay which was weather related, host was very responsive with good communication and this was resolved straight away. Would definitely return.
Jonathan
Owner was very helpful and also left a hamper with some essentials in. We had a lovely weekend. The house is beautiful and it's very well located for the key attractions in matlock. The master bedroom looks out over the valley which is a beautiful view to wake up to.
We had a great stay at Belgrano. Comfortable, clean, and a great spot in the town. Owners gave us so much helpful information before we arrived and were available for a couple of other things we needed to check. A gem of an accomodation option if you're staying in Matlock Bath witha large party!
Amanda
We had a lovely few days, clean and tidy. Hot tub and welcome pack is a nice touch and the host is very accommodating and helpful. The location is perfect, although a tight spot with the parking we just managed in a 4X4. Had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable very nice bedding Thank you.
We had a great time celebrating my husbands special birthday. A spacious, well set out and full of character house providing everything that could be needed. A bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the kitchen was a nice touch. A good location to explore nearby towns or attractions with plenty of public transport options including regular bus and train services for those who want to leave their car parked. We throughly enjoyed local walks and then relaxing in the hot tub admiring the breathtaking views from the garden.
Elizabeth
The owner contacted me before arrival and gave his number incase there were any problems. We had to contact him on arrival and he advised us what to do. Apart from that a beautiful house, fantastic hot tub and very scenic views from the property.
Comfortable and well appointed property with excellent views over Matlock Bath.
Elizabeth
