Springdale House, Buxton

We loved the house but we will never book anything again with Sykes . The customer service is awful , using stupid AI bots and it took us 6 days to know if there is a coffee machine in the house . It is like talking to a wall. The house is very nice all bedrooms superb. The dining room and the kitchen too We did not use the lounge because there is not enough seating for 12 . The frying pans should be replaced. I would strongly recommend this house but book with another agent .

The property is great for larger groups we were 11 adults. The decor was modern and fresh. Good number of bathrooms too. Short walk to the centre of Buxton. Definitely a good option.

Lovely house! Very comfortable for a group of 9 of us. Very comfy beds and great kitchendining room for communal socialising. Easy 1015 min walk into the centre of Buxton.

Very enjoyable stay. Great size for multifamily stay we were 9 people made up of 3 families and there was plenty of space for us. Great location easy walking distance. There were a few silly niggly bits let it down slightly, though it did not spoil our stay changing those few things would make it a 5 star review. Things to improve seal the fireplace in the twin on the 1st floor a bird flew in provide scissors in the kitchen fix the doorknob on the 2nd floor internal bedroom door

We have a great stay at the house. Its a very spacious & gorgeous space in a great location for us. Whilst its on a main road this did not impact on our stay at all. The house was warm and inviting with big rooms. The house is even better in real life and I would recommend more photos to really show off the space. The dishwasher did not work and this meant that we spent a lot of time washing up which when you are away for a short time to spend time with friends, this was annoying. Even more so when I found out that this was a known issue but I was not made aware before I arrived. I had to spend time on the phone with Sykes who said that I would get an update but I didnt hear anything. There were no clean tea towels, we had a to buy a set. There was one that was in the kitchen and it smelt unclean. There were no big pans, for a house that big there does need to be better pans to allow to cook for 11 people. The oven trays are not suitable either. There was also a greasy frying pan left in the cupboard. There needs to be an additional fridge, the one available is too small for the size of the house. Thankfully it was cold outside so we were able to leave things in the garden to keep cold. There was meant to be a starter pack for the fire, whilst there was wood there was no kindling which was disappointing. Even though there were issues, we did have a good time and did enjoy the house. The owners kindly let us check out at 12 rather than the normal 10 oclock which does feel very early, especially as there are a lot of things to do before you have to leave. It would be good if this could be reviewed.

Excellent property. Walking distance to town centre. Very comfortable and good dining room with big square table for a group gathering. We were there in winter, but outdoor space would have been lovely in warm weather. Needed a few pieces of kitchen equipment sharp knives, large and small, wooden spoons, and serving spoons and more chopping boards, which would make it easier to cook we were self catering.

Ideal accommodation for 78 of us who have had a long weekend away together for past 40 years. House cold when arrived and no heating instructions. We could not get heating to work and the owner did try and help but he also could not sort out. We did eventually get it going but we felt compelled to leave on as there was clearly a problem. It did mean that we had no hot water on the day of arrival. The owner blamed PAP testing which had taken place the previous week and was presumably the reason for us struggling to get the TV to work. The only instruction manual was for the log burner and there was no comments book.

Lovely property, very spacious with a homely feel. We felt very comfortable immediately and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Location is great, short walking distance from the centre and parks. Would stay at the Springdale House again without hesitation.

Beautiful town house with spacious bedrooms and living spaces. Beds were very comfortable. Nice decor of the property. Easy key collection system. Would highly recommend for a big group wanting a base to stay in the Peak District

A really lovely property, we were a group of 8 adults and 4 children, and had plenty of space with all the bedrooms and bathrooms. Really nicely laid out and everything very clean. Good location for walking into Buxton. As others have mentioned before, a bigger fridge would be good as its not really in proportion to the size of the property. We had a great stay though and would definitely recommend to others.

We had a great couple of days, the house was so nicely decorated and had everything we needed with plenty of space for 3 families with 6 teenagers. Buxton is lovely, plenty to do walking from the house. We would definitely return. Only comment would be that some wooden spoons would be a good addition.

Lovely house we had 8 adults and 4 kids and had plenty of space to relax and hang out. Great to have so many bathrooms, and comfortable spacious bedrooms. We loved walking 20 mins to Pooles Cavern and Solomons Temple. And 15 mins into town. Perfect. Handy to have a Morrisons so close to 34 min walk

Springdale is perfect for a large group, it has all the facilities you will need, the owners were great communicating with any questions we had. The house is very well situated for shops and the town and local attractions. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Our second Christmas get together in this beautiful property. It is warm and welcoming, spacious and wellequipped, although a second fridge would be useful. Owners are very responsive and helpful. I suspect we might be back again

Great property in a great location. Beautifully decorated and with generous sized rooms. Our only minor complaints are that parking wasn't easy and getting back onto the main road was tricky and the fridge is nowhere near big enough for a house of this size.

The house was perfect, everything we needed was catered for. Myself and all my family had brilliant weekend celebrating my birthday. Enough room for 9 adults and a baby. I requested a cot and highchair which was there for when we arrived Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic weekend in the most gorgeous house! Would highly recommend! The only issue we found which was incredibly minor, was the lack of glasses. We had to pop to Morrisons down the road and purchase some cheap ones for all 11 of us staying. I would definitely go back to this absolute beauty. X x

Good location walking distance into town. It is a beautiful house and perfect for big groups as 6 bedrooms and lots of bathrooms. Would be better in Winter as a lovely log burner but the outside space is very poor and unkempt for the price. There has been no garden maintenance done the table and patio were dirty and the glass bin was full and hasnt been emptied. You wouldnt want to eat AlFresco. The biggest issue however is the road its very noisy and the big potholes mean the sound from the Lorries reverberates around the house even with the windows closed. As a result many of us had a poor nights sleep you will need earplugs. Whilst this isnt the owners fault at that price it should be made clear in the description. It was loud on a weekend as well as in the week. There was also only one key so unfortunately when we locked ourselves out we had to call the emergency number. The owners were great and came within the hour but maybe a yale lock isnt the best idea in a rental property.

Beautifully renovated property. Very comfortable and spacious. Well equipped for those that wish to self cater. Negatives busy road with lots of HGV traffic and an unfortunate pothole outside the house that kept some awake with the rattling. Parking limited, but neighbours were friendly and helpful and allowed us to park on their driveway for loading and unloading. I'm sure they would do the same for others just ask politely.

Great location for exploring Buxton and all the surrounding area. The house is very well equipped and the kitchendinning area is beautiful. Tasteful decor and spacious rooms. We stayed for a week 6 adults and 6 children and had a great time. Two additions would really add significant value to the property a washerdryer, and another or bigger fridge.

Springdale is a fabulous house to stay for a long weekend. Beautifully decorated and the kitchen has plenty of crockery for a large group. Bedrooms are vey spacious and bathrooms a plenty. As a group of maturer women who run their own homes a few things for us could be improved. The bedrooms are huge, why wouldnt you have a bedside table both sides of the bed and bedside lights to accompany them? In one of the bedrooms twin there was only a standard lamp the other side of the room, with no bedside tables. Ok it could have been moved but thats not the point the bedrooms are beautiful but could be improved. No teapot in the kitchen, we were a group of 9 and were staying 3 nights although we like a nice glass of wine also we drink lots of tea and this would have been nice. The lounge could take another chair as only seated 6 adults, with the house enabling 12 this could be a disappointment to some. Another key for the property as a large house. Its great to have a key safe but with the English weather and groups that have little children a second key for quick access into the property would be a positive. The water is very hot and I imagine the boiler temperature is set higher than necessary to meet guidelines this is for saving the owners money The house was lovely and warm and this was welcomed. The broom in the cupboard under the stairs was broken so couldnt sweep. All in all the house was amazing and I would live in a house like that. Thank you

What an amazing house! Such lovely big rooms, so simply but beautifully decorated. The whole house has a feeling of calm. We had a large party of a range of ages and it suited us all. The property is well kept, warm and clean. We couldnt fault it. We especially appreciated all the toilets, bathrooms and plentiful hot water. We managed to get three medium sized cars in the driveway with some careful manoeuvring. Fantastic location for access to shops, parks, pavilion and the facilities. Even though we had bad weather we had a fantastic time.

Our family had a wonderful Christmas break! The house is warm and comfortable and stylish with lots of bathrooms, we parked 3 cars on site and a fourth on a nearby side street and walked to everywhere in Buxton. Just a suggestion, but a bigger fridge or extra fridge would have been useful, and if we had stayed longer, a washing machine for all the kids stuff. We hope to return next year too! 8 adults and 4 kids under 8.

Lovely stay, was a short break with friends. Comfy beds, good attention to detail throughout the house. We saw a great show at the Opera House and I can recommend Lucianos Italian restaurant. We would definitely return. Thank you!

Amazing house, beautifully decorated, furnished and well equipped. Ideal for party of 12 with many bathrooms and toilets. Ideal location for walking into Buxton and a supermarket close by. We were surprised that the house was on such a busy road, not mentioned in property details. We had issues with toilet door handles falling off. That said, we enjoyed our stay at Springdale House and would definitely return.

A very spacious and stylish property. However, we felt unable to use a bedroom on the top floor due to large cracks in the ceiling directly above the bed. There was no secondary glazing to the front windows so the property was noisy, as it is situated on a busy main road. We also feel a washing machine and tumble drier are essential for a property of this size. We noted in a previous review that the downstairs toilet door handle kept coming off, this has not been remedied. Overall the property is well situated for visiting local attractions and has a large supermarket close by.

Lovely house. Perfect for a weekend getaway with friends

The property is beautiful, tastefully decorated and has many features that were much appreciated. It has great facilities. We would highlight two issues that impacted on our stay so that one of the issues can be remedied. Several of the door handles in the bathrooms come off in your hand when trying to leave the toilet. This happened several times and worried the children in our party when they used the facilities. I do feel it is worth mentioning in the property details that the property is on a very busy main road. This impacted on the quality of our sleep and noise from the lorries woke us early each morning. I was not aware of this when booking.

Springdale house, has to honestly be the best property i have stayed in the UK. It truly exceeded our expectation It was spacious but cosy. I thoroughly enjoy our stay and cannot wait to be back, we are already planning a trip.

This was a superb place to stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of things I would add 1 tea towels. The luxury towels for people were wonderful so maybe supply a few tea towels? 2 the advert did say utility room which indicates a washing machine was there wasnt 3 long term maybe an outdoor area. It wasnt an issue for us as the weather was poor on an evening but something that matched the special house I think would allow you to increase your price. Genuinely beautiful place where there are no negatives just little bits I think can be added. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Luxurious extremely well decorated and the dining room table that allow a family to eat and talk together was heavenly. Best thing I can say is THANK YOU

The house is fabulous, clean and very tidy. Sufficient for 12 ppl to stay. Very convenient. Nothing to complain.

We had a great stay , we are a group of friends that love walking and visiting beautiful places like Buxton. The house is lovely, convenient for town and very tastefully decorated and the bedroom combination was just right for our group. The kitchen is well equipped and the big square dining table was perfect, much more sociable that a long table. We were very comfortable in the house. It would have been nice to have one or two chairs in the bedroom with the bath and an extra bedside lamp not complaining, just nice to have!. Thank you for a great stay.
