The Temple Reviews

Sarah
We loved our stay here! The hot tubs and bar area were fantasticand the location is unbeatable-just a couple of minutes from shops and cafes. A quick refresh in some bedrooms would be niceand bringing your own pillow is a good idea. Overall, great value!
Ellie Roberts
We loved the house, it's got such a charming vibe and the views are truly breathtaking. The location is perfect, close to town but also surrounded by lovely walking trails and hikes. There were a couple of spots that could have been cleanerand the water temperature in some showers was a bit tricky to get right, but it didn't ruin our stay. Overall, we'd definitely return and recommend it for big groups or families. Wouldn't hesitate to book again!
Emma Carter
We loved staying here! The place is spacious, very comfortableand well kitted out. Matlock's charm really shines through, though a few areas felt a bit cramped. Still, great stay!
Jane
We all had a great week at The Temple with our big group of 32, from tiny tots to seniors. The shared spaces like the lounge and kitchen were nice and comfy, making it easy to cook for everyone. The pub was a hit for family fun. Hot showers and comfy beds kept us happyand the hot tubs were definitely a highlight! Plenty of walks around Matlock Bath kept us busy too. It's a perfect place for a large get-together without any hassle.
Claire
We loved the location, perfect for exploring the Peak Districtand the views from the lounge and garden are stunning. The kitchen was well stocked, which made cooking easy. However, we did face a few problems-hot water pressure was inconsistent in some roomsand the hot tubs weren't warm when we arrived. One hot tub fuse blew, knocking out the heating for a day, which was a bit of a pain. Also, the car registration machine was out of order. Despite these hiccups, we had a lovely stay overall!
Samira
We had a pretty good stay overall. The house was spacious and had all the facilities we needed, which was great. The location was spot on, just a few minutes walk to the local bars and restaurants, so that was handy. The hot tubs were a nice touch when we arrived, even if one was faulty and couldn't be used. It was a bit annoying that there were no logs for the fire and the house was freezing when we got in. Also, no welcome info or empty bins, which was a bit disappointing. Still, we enjoyed our time!
Alex Morgan
We loved this place! The house is top-notchand we're already talking about coming back next year. Over 30 of us stayed comfortably, never feeling cramped or in each other's way. The living room has lovely views of Matlockand the pub and bar were great for hanging out. The dining area was just rightand every bedroom had an ensuite - such a bonus! The surrounding area is perfect for walks and exploring. Honestly, can't recommend this enough, it's a real gem!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay! Everything we needed was providedand any questions we had were answered quickly. Thanks so much for everything!
James
We had a great weekend! Thanks for everything. The atmosphere was just fantasticand we really enjoyed our time. Hope to do it again soon!
Sophie
This property is just fantastic and in such a great location! We were a group of 34 with adults, teensand younger kids. The fact that each room has its own en-suite is such a bonusand we loved that some rooms have king beds which can be split into singles. It truly is the perfect spot for a group gathering. We had a great time doing a pub quiz and dancing the night away in the bar upstairs. The kids were all over the pool and table tennis tableand everyone enjoyed the hot tubs too!
Gary
We had a lovely weekend. After reading the reviews, we get why some folks say the place feels a bit tiredand it could definitely do with a lick of paint soon. The furniture is a touch too rustic for such a grand house, so it feels a bit out of place, but it didn't really ruin our stay. The only downside would be the smell coming from the toilets in the bar. The location is amazing, as are the views and the gardenand we would definitely come back!
Mark
We had a few minor issues with the property, but nearly 30 family members had a wonderful time in a super property with absolutely stunnning views!
